Character Name: Rei Ryugazaki

AU Info: BNW-verse Rei isn't terribly different from his canon incarnation-- he's the second son of a middle class family, and he lives for academics. Research is his game, but he's still very new to actually working with Pokemon....

It's nothing that a little research can't fix! (At least, in his opinion.)

Pre-Existing CR: Any and all academic sorts probably know Rei because of his constant presence and his stellar grades. Additionally, people familiar with any of the athletics in the city (particularly if they're familiar with anything that's track and field) would know him as well.


Looking for: I'm looking for any and all CR with Rei, particularly those who can push him out of his comfort zone, ruin his cool, or get him mixed up with the other Rei in town.

Also, he's gonna eventually need to learn how to handle himself properly in the wilderness one of these days. Oh, and swimming. He still doesn't know how to do that.

Potential Connections: When Rei isn't in class, he can generally be found hanging around the libraries doing ALL THE RESEARCH, around various coffee shops or pastry shops because he appreciates the refined atmosphere, or more recently he can be spotted hanging out around the Habitat to learn more about his new friends...

Other Info: Rei has actually been skipping class a lot lately. That is a huge red flag that something is up, since he's normally such a stellar student. Academic sorts, feel free to comment on that.

Duke here is a researcher, and has been one for.. a rather long time, so he might recognize Rei from possible teaching moments?

Any of this is awesome, especially since Rei makes it a point to research anything that catches his attention.

...probably to the point of camping in the library if something in particular has his interest. Rei is seriously a research junkie.

Duke primarily focuses on metal things, because that falls under the abilities he got due to Steel type

If he spends long enough there, he can see Duke get chases out by a floette

Rei's not an Enlightened, but he is fascinated by how different everything can be. :3

Lately Rei's focus in research has been in camping and wilderness survival...since he found himself with a Mantyke who just wants to go play and explore.

...Unfortunately, this same Mantyke has made it his life's duty to keep Rei from being too serious, so interruptions abound on this end too.

Steel / Psychic! So if books are floating, it might be him. ( And steel is cool until you get heavier and don't realize it and break things... like the chair you were sitting in. )

His Floette mostly is worried about his health XD "Sleep in an actual bed", "eat something", something like that.

Dhaos is only occasionally a guest lecturer, but he's probably somewhat aware of Rei if he's in the library a lot.

A guest lecturer who was probably quite fascinating. Rest assured that Rei still has all of the notes on file if he ever had the priviledge to attend one of those lectures.

But besides that...yes, Rei's been in the library a lot lately. His current topic of study is camping and wilderness survival, and he's probably read through at least half of the section already.

If he has any interest at all in history, ancient civilizations, or old languages, he's probably seen Merrill at the library in those sections systematically checking out and reading just about everything she can get her hands on.

Hmm...Rei is more of a math and science nerd in canon, but there is so much to be explored in this world that I can definitely see him going for a more interdisciplinary approach once he gets rolling.

Incidentally, his research habits are the same as her's. Gather and analyze every scrap of information that's available on the topic, right?

More or less. She's looking for signs of the location of her peoples' civilization that was ransacked and destroyed before the time of the Savior. Predictably, there's not a whole lot of actual information remaining about that, so she's basically just looking everywhere she can find.

Wow-- so, very old history in that case. It sounds like it'd be sorta fun looking through all of those books in search for that info!

It's likely to dead-end since she's doing sort of the same thing in her original canon and never finds what she's looking for, but Rei and Merrill don't need to know that since it'll still make for good CR.
