Blatant copyright infringement aside, yo, my name is Minki and I'm throwing in Dr. Eggman from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Eggman is a senior researcher in the Union and an authority on old tech and alternative energy research in case... you know. The shortages kick in. It's relatively harmless, except... well, he's kinda interested in furthering his grandfather's research concerning the Robotnik Engine, an engine that makes use of Pokemon as a power source.

Since, well, in canon, he's pretty alright with stuffing animals into his robots as battery.

If any of your characters are taking courses at the University, they may have accidentally stumbled into one of his famously brutal courses. He's not yet a villainous conquerer, but just a brilliant man with a terrible attitude and dreams of the great scientific society. Nice to meet you!

Character number 2!

Whatup, yo. It's Eric again! I play Zarvora! Now I also play Manfred Hohenstauffen, who is the heir to the Holy Roman Empire in the 1500s. There's also a whole lot of magic and subterfuge involved in his life.

In THIS universe, he is the second son of one of the most noble and well known families in Union. The Hohenstauffens proudly claim that their lineage goes all the way back to the Savior herself, and there are enough enlightened in their family that it's hard to disprove them. Manfred was happy with his life of not really having anything expected of him, but then his older brother got gravely injured in an accident. He isn't expected to live for more than a few years, so suddenly Manfred is in position to be the heir. He's been sent to the Swords of the Savior to keep him out of the way while he gets a crash course on discipline and responsibility.

Manfred himself is a fighting/ground type God of War. He has a Machop that follows him around.

Reasons you might have previous CR with Manfred:
- He drinks a lot, so you might know him from some bar or tavern
- He's a noble, so you might have run into him at some kind of high class social gathering (or even related! Most noble families are all distant cousins of each other right?)
- He likes pretty girls, so if you are a pretty girl he might have pinched your butt at some point.
- He is a sword of the savior. He's known in the barracks for being pretty lazy and irresponsible, but when he finally DOES get around to doing his work/training/etc, he's pretty good at it.
- He's huge. Like, 6'6" and built like a fucking tank. He stands out in a crowd.

Hello, peoples! My name is Fae and in what is probably the fastest "enabling-app-accepted" cycle in the history of forever, I am bringing you the lovely Toph Beifong from Avatar: The Last Airbender! She's generally the same here as she is in canon, only instead of picking fights it's harder to get her to like you (thanks to having been taught by a Sandshrew and her parents isolationist habits) (btw whoever suggested being taught by Sandshrews, you're amazing). All her info is here for ease of access. I'll likely have her IC intro up shortly. As for pre-CR, it's pretty hard to have any with her since, again, her parents kept her locked away, though I'm open to people having seen her around after getting out of there. She's been out for a month or so. Anyone who might know the Beifongs are welcome to know her vaguely as well.

As for me, I do have a plurk at FaeRose but I ask that you please let me know who you are before adding me (and I apologize for the Tolkien spam that is current flavor of the day over there, and the for the incoming Winter Soldier spam when April rolls around. I legit thought about apping Bucky here for a while and thoughts of Hobbits and Pokémon now won't leave me alone, so).

I can't wait to get started!

Pageant Vote!

Hey guys! Sorry this is so late; it got lost in the shuffle of event stuff. The pageant ended the day before the event, so we're gonna let you guys vote now on who the winners should be! Everyone who participated will receive a prize, but the winners will receive something extra on top of it. Simply respond under the appropriate name with a character journal. You can vote once for each category. While this should be based on the IC content of the post, the votes should be coming from the players. In other words, if you have multiple characters in the game, please don't vote with all of them.

There will be one winner from each category! Voting will close in 48 hours and the winners and prizes will be announced then.

First Round

The first round match-ups have been determined!

The rules for the tournament are the following: each trainer may use up to three Pokemon in a series of single battles. Pokemon may be switched in and out at any time. No Enlightened abilities or items may be used in these battles, including passive abilities. (Of course, you may cheat ICly, but this will be frowned upon and may lead to disqualification depending on the severity of the infraction.)

We need a winner from each pairing by 2/26, so please post the results of your match here whenever you've decided on a winner. If we have not received a decision by this time, we'll need to randomize a winner. If you are having difficulty getting ahold of your partner, let us know with a PM and we'll work something out. You may, of course, continue to backtag past this date; we don't actually expect that people will finish their matches so quickly ICly.

The IC post for the first round will go up tomorrow at midnight. There are 12 participants, so there will be 6 making it into the second round and 3 winners representing Union. These 3 winners will have a match against Team Evolution at the end. Since this event depends a lot upon player-player interactions, please do make an effort to keep the threads going!
