Up until this year, she'd have had to be specifically a Kurain Chaneller, but Maya recently opened up the school to anyone wanting to learn more about ghost or psychic types/pokemon.

And yeah, Maya's a big social prankster butterfly (though she doesn't really use her tricks on girls, she's nice) so it's likely they've at least said hi a few times
