Event End Plotting

Hey guys! So due to some miscommunications, there's been some confusion about how to approach this event. Here's what's happening:

The previous OoC post is now solely for plotting for the Raids that will be happening in the early part of the event. You do not need to sign up, and you can tag into the IC Raids post at any time. If you collect a group of at least 3 and you want mod responses, please make a note of it in your response! Otherwise, tag amongst yourselves.

The randomization for the Raids has now been processed. Raids randomization is closed.

This post will be for plotting for Event End. Event End will require sign-ups to participate due to the nature of the event and the potential for danger. The most we can tell you is that you'll be facing an extremely powerful Pokemon that has the potential to inflict severe harm regardless of how strong your characters may be. We'd like to give you guys ample time to plan, so sign-ups will be opening now and a new OoC post will be going up shortly before the culmination of the event for you guys to plan what you'd like to do. We'd like you to make groups of 3-4, and if you can't find anyone, there will be another randomization option. Randomized groups will be announced July 26th.

Fair Warning: The culmination of the event has a possibility of severe injury to both humans and Pokemon depending on actions taken by the players. As noted in the FAQ, this event can potentially be High Danger, meaning that Pokemon death is also possible if that's something you would personally like to play.

Peter's pretty much going to see Heatran and realize there is very little chance they can beat it in a straight fight. We may wanna try having Yuui and Apollo talk it into leaving.

Talking is probably about the only thing they can do, other than try and annoy it to death; Apollo will try and talk regardless, because that's how he rolls. The slight issue is one I'll need to poke the mods about; unknown to him, Apollo's the reincarnation of a Pokémon who actively betrayed the gods and took Union's side to fight them. If Heatran knew him in his past life and recognizes him through his mental "voice" it might not be happy, to say the least.

Yuui is all for trying to communicate with it rather than trying to fight. Knowing him he'll probably keep trying even if it chooses to attack them instead. Reason will always win out in the end, right?

He has a couple of overprotective pokémon with him who might be a bit less amendable to the peace talk idea if the Heatran ends up attacking them though.

(Also I'm interested in what the mods will do with the reincarnation thing. Sound like it could put a pretty interesting twist on things.)

Peter has a Trapinch with Fissure and Superpower and a Vulpix with Flash Fire, so worse comes to worse they might be able to do something.

Anyone else feel like kicking this off then?

Lucas will probably hang back and do protective things since he's largely defensive! Healing and borders and stuff. Despite my outdated info for him, he's at about Level 40 by now so he'll be able to survive about 10 seconds against this thing instead of just 5 or 6 maybe.

Merrill herself is level 22 and most of her Pokemon are in the mid-20s. Her own talents rely primarily on debuffs, so that might be able to help out a bit?

Looks like the plot post is up. How do we want to do this thing? Lenna will probably want to try to talk or reason with the Heatran first, but if that goes pear-shaped, she's also not above fighting. Lute is played by my wife, and I know he'll probably feel similarly about wanting to at least try to talk to it first and find out what's got it so angry. Not sure what Pamela and Feliks' plans are. Let's hash some stuff out here!

Feliks is usually a mostly-devout Catholic, and is therefore a mostly-devout follower of the Savior, and is therefore super in favor of trying to talk to it or placate it somehow first. He'll fight if his Pokémon or people's lives are in danger, but I think Plan A for him is definitely "try to not anger the god, and also not get people killed".

So, this is pretty much fighty fighty fight group. Are we just going to go at this thing full-force? Anybody have any other ideas? Chie's main interest is in protecting people over directly beating down the Pokemon, but it seems like the fastest way to protect people probably is to engage the Pokemon. She's going to need a lot of backup, though, since she's half Ice type and this thing is spewing fire everywhere.

This is a stupidly specific question, but on the super ultra slim hypothetical chance that a Legendary Pokémon will be encountered during the end of the event, would it be all right for the DDF senshi (particularly Haruka & Michiru with their Psychic typing) to somehow intuit that it's a "god"? If not, how else might they realize they're looking at what their organization is seeking?

Well, it's probably just a very large mutant Bidoof, so the question most likely won't be necessary. But on the super ultra slim hypothetical chance that it's something else (and even if it isn't), the group is perfectly welcome to believe that whatever shows up is a god. Whether or not it really is a god is another question altogether.

It will certainly seem like a strong possibility even to those with no particular affinities towards researching this kind of thing, though.
