Gigan Mobilization - OOC Planning

As mentioned in the IC post, the time has come for the people of Union and their allies to defend their home against the Gigan army. While a randomizer option exists for those who’d prefer that, players are encouraged to form their own groups for this event.

Please sign up for groups using the top-levels below. You may also use this post to recruit more members for your group. If your character has a particular strategy in mind they’d like to employ against Gigas, please mention it so your group members know what to expect from the log. Maybe your strategies will work well together!

We would like to see no more than 5 people to a group. If your character would rather participate in scouting or information relay than the battle itself, please sign up in the appropriate mod-created top-levels. The signup deadline for all groups is 7/15.

Haruka believes in efficient, effective strategies that make use of the strongest thing around. Gigas has a technological and, especially, vehicular advantage over Union. But if that were taken from them, a group could infiltrate the Gigan army and get close enough to a Gigas to try and 1) determine how they're being controlled 2) disrupt said control.

Having missed out on the infiltration of Gigas (twice), Gwendolyn will absolutely be on the front lines to do combat with their army. Who wants to join this Valkyrie in the slaying of our enemies!?

Raine is available for analyzing/healing/support in any situation as needed. The question is where! Any weak points that need looking at, maybe?

Rei is a little less willing to do something quite so insane as Haruka, however she and Ami both have some thoughts on how to neutralize some of those technological advantages. They have a lot of them, including heavy vehicles and much better communications lines. So, what they were thinking would be to go after those things rather than the troops themselves, to disrupt the Gigan troops.

Things like getting Ghosts or Electric types into communications arrays, or using Ground types to burrow around beneath tanks and trucks to make sinkholes, that kind of thing. Also catching choppers on the ground to ground them, that kinda thing.

Ami is going to be fighting beside Rei and helping with her ghosts and electric and water types to mess up the communications of the Gigas forces.

Harry's got his Malivaso, a Rotom that likes ruining electronics, experience and a bone to pick.

Pamela can grow massive plants that can interfere with tanks and trucks, so I'd love to get her in on that. :D

If the rest of the group is okay with it and you don't have too many people already, would you like a Lenna? Apart from what's already been discussed, she's got a Probopass that could probably wreak some magnetic havoc on weapons and computer systems.

Yuuna's a really skilled tracker, scout, and skirmisher. I could place her into either the scouting group, or into one of the groups that's going after a Gigas. She'd be best suited to strategies that involve stealth more than brute force. A get in, cut down the slave harness thing, and then get out.

If you're up for hijacking a giant god golem...let's do it.

Assuming Yuuna and Elaine get along and maybe even travel to Union together for friendship and adventures along the way, maybe they can talk strategy too and join forces. Elaine's all about being smart and sneaky, so she'd totally be down with that style if you need an Electric/Fairy type.

If you don't mind, Right would be willing to help free that giant god golem. No guarantee that he'd be able to pass all the stealth checks, but he definitely wants a second chance at freeing them.

Kurapika will be getting his evolutions in, so he has some sneaking ability, chain manipulation, and a dousing rod like ability to track objects, so he can work in assisting information relay, or as support for combat teams.

Useless Beginner Tagalong

I thought this event might be a fun way for Orihime to realize she's an Enlightened and unleash her newfound abilities. She'll probably start off just wielding a baseball bat and getting ready to fight along with the others. If someone gets hurt, boom, abilities manifest and she can heal, shield, and attack. So while she probably wouldn't be part of an official group (unless she happens to be hanging out with someone she already knows when the attack happens), I am all for her stumbling on someone else's group and tagging along because it's better than leaving her to fight on her own.

I don't have a group, yet. Do you want to be involved in the battle part? She can tagalong with Duo. If he finds her alone, he'll be likely to bring her along to make sure he can keep an eye on her (since, really, Orihime... a baseball bat?)

Command Center & Reserves

During the attack on Gigas, it was really helpful to have a command & control staff with a wide variety of skills, and even more handy to have high-level characters who could Teleport in to hot spots at a moment's notice.

tl;dr let's talk about our support skills here, whether it's hacking or spellcasting or rapid deployment or whatever.
