Sanctuary Event - OOC
The next event will be the retaking of Sanctuary from Gigas. Players will have a number of available logs to choose from, some combat, some non-combat, that we will be announcing tomorrow. Sign-ups will not open for another 24 hours after the available logs have been announced, there will be 10 logs to choose from which we hope will cover everybody, but we will add more if required. The intent this time is to give people a chance to discuss and plan where they want to go instead of making it fully first-come first-serve. Event postings will continue to go up at Midnight EST as usual.
During this event, players will be off the grid and will not have access to their warp band. Communication will not be entirely dead but no Pokemon can be summoned. If desired, players may accept the offer of Pokeballs, in which case they may have a normal sized team (7 for Far from Ordinary, 5 for standard Enlightened, and 3 for God of War). If you do not accept the Pokeballs, you will only be able to bring between 1 and 2 Pokemon, and depending on your chosen log some may not be available due to size constraints.
The actual logs will begin on May 30th, this week will consist of planning, information gathering, and a travel log that will go up later in the week. Feel free to direct any OOC questions to this post.
General Game Announcements
Additionally, the Engineering Post has been updated, and with it the implementation of a new system. With the crafting of the Rotom Cycle, Engineers may now build complex machinery, either working alone or together with others. More complex machines will become available through Player plots. Machines require a separate use of the Engineering skill each week to craft a component, and then an additional week to assemble the full machine.

- Rotomcycles! Probably not terribly useful for the actual fight which will probably largely be underground, but I bet they'll let us get their way faster than Gigas expects.
- Prototype tunneling engines! It is the nature of Sparks like Gil to invent wild and insane inventions specifically for one purpose and then throwing them out never to be mentioned again. In this case, I'm thinking of a vehicle that can dig through solid earth and stone and breach directly into Gigan tunnels from unexpected angles!
- Whatever else you think he could make! Suggest it to him. He likes a good challenge as much as anyone!
ALSO
On account of Rotoms are not a good long term solution towards a power source for engines, mostly for practical reasons (Rotoms are notorious tricksters, after all), Gil has still been researching alternate fuel sources. I was thinking it might be appropriate for him to discover how to distill gasoline (or something similar, at least) in small amounts. Not enough that we could use it everywhere, but enough that Gil could power his own inventions for personal use if he needed to.
ALSO ALSO
He is hella reverse engineering pokeball tech. No idea what he'd do with it. Right now he's more interested in the technical challenge than anything else. He might use it for something completely unintended later.

He can work support or fight role, but leaning slightly towards fight.

And she's got a freeze ray.
Rei: Will probably be going. Undecided on Pokeballs, but she's suited well for a Glass-Cannon/Black Mage role, or for helping with diplomacy.
Yuuna: is definitely going, and will volunteer for combat duty. After her conversation with Nishimura, she'll be accepting Pokeballs for her closest bondmates. The oldest and strongest she has, really.
Yukiko: Will probably not accept Pokeballs, but I'm not sure yet. She will be going primarily as a healer and support, wherever she's needed. I'd like to make use of her Healing abilities to do some REALLY drastic repairs, if anyone volunteers for injury. Or even just little injuries.

He can also do support stuff as needed - like help look after kids, handing out supplies, help get civilians out of the way/out of Sanctuary until the fighting's over, etc.

He's only taking two pokémon, his Growlithe (possibly Arcanine by then) and his Doublade, and categorically refusing pokéballs. Either way, he's a stellar fighter, a great tank and a good military commander, so he and his will do some good.
I'm also playing with the idea of having him evolve the second time at some point during this event! Since it'll be kind of a big deal/dramatic moment for him, maybe by protecting somebody? Not all set in stone yet.
Totsuka on the other hand is hella not going. He'll be on support, even though I haven't thought about what exactly he'll be up to. Anything he can do, really!

no one saw that
Also he will come with a Taki. He will not be taking pokeballs, not because of issues with pokeballs but because he'd rather rely on his own two hands more than anything so he will just be taking his Marowak, Goro.
Eiji Will also probably be going because I've wanted to do something combative with him for a while and he might be close to evolving his final time SO THERE'S THAT. I've got no plans with him other than he'll be on the Union side of this and not want to kill anyone at all. Eiji is also of the no pokeball mind but because of Union reasons. He'll be taking Hina and his Glaceon, Yumi.

Rei may take pokeballs though. Strictly on a volunteer basis.
Lucca is going on a motorcycle

lkjdljgld Lucca. If this were a later event i would have killed to see a group of gunho calderans burst through Sanctuary on a bunch of motorcycles.

Lucca and balls...she's fine with it since she knows the Nishimura.

She will also be on a Rotomcycle. WHO WANTS TO FORM A BIKER GANG.

Is she going for a fight log or something else?

Haruka is
entirely too obsessed with her own aestheticpicky.no subject

And then if Haruka does end up fighting Gigas soldiers Yuuna can make snarky comments about it.

Banzu will not be going, though he intends to get some Pokéballs for research purposes. He has item creation slots open though if anyone needs anything made, and oddly enough if they're going to Sanctuary he'll basically only be charging for materials, not that he'll say that he's temporarily lowering his prices.

He will go where he's most needed, with a focus on protecting people, however if he thinks he might have to hurt people to protect more people, he's alright with that.
