As noted above, the plot calendar is something we're going to work on. In regards to the open-ended events, we prefer to leave players the possibility of changing our script if they want; in this case, unfortunately, no one had actually progressed with the final section yet. This will probably be a combination of making sure players get to event end a little quicker and narrowing things a little on our end.
