Hello everyone! We’ve got some general bookkeeping announcements during our downtime from events.

First, we’ve updated the Engineered Items post a bit to make new items available. You’ll note we’re also removing some of the lore materials. While we liked the feel of it, it was really difficult for us to find new material justifications, which in turn was keeping us from rolling out items we felt should be on the list. We may reference material requirements to build new items as part of a player plot, but in general we will no longer be including specific materials for new items we add to the list.

Engineers are free to reference obscure materials in threads should it be warranted, and can generally just make it up.

Second, the Dream World is now open for the first time! Head on over to the Map Post and you can request bonds for the Special Pokemon of the Dream World. Your chance will be initially low, but every time you fail to get a bond you will be able to chain it, as with Shiny Chaining, and increase your chance. Chaining Dream World Pokemon will increase your chances by a much higher margin than Shiny Chaining, which remains a very low chance even with chaining. Additionally, Intensive Training in order to unlock Hidden Abilities will also need to be posted in the Map Post. Going forward, we will update the calendar to reflect when the Dream World will be open and you will always be able to interact with the Dream World by using the Map Post.

Finally, we have a few rule modifications. We’ve been noticing some pain points for the modding team that we’re going to have to unfortunately tighten our regulations on in order to make things more manageable.

For logs, we ask that players limit the major actions of themselves and their Pokemon to 2 at a time. While it’s fun and exciting to use all of your Pokemon simultaneously, it’s almost impossible for the mods to keep track of without intensive tracking. We’ve found ourselves spending upwards of half an hour on a single log response, which is really difficult for us to manage. Also, we will start having players, when signing up, list the Pokemon they will be taking into any given log. This will help us plan a bit better so we can present appropriate challenges to the team.

On the subject of Pokemon blurbs, we’ve noticed a distinct increase in players requesting blurbs of a specific nature. While we want to provide blurbs that people like and enjoy, putting specifications on blurbs has also been causing issues as we try to figure out something that will work that also conforms to the player specifications. As with the logs above, that was also taking us upwards to half an hour to fill. We will no longer be able to honor requests for specific traits within blurbs. In general the blurbs are a service we offer if you have no idea of what you want (with the understanding that typically our blurbs are somewhat silly or utterly horrifying if it’s a Yamask). If you have an idea of what you want the Pokemon to be already, you are encouraged to write up your own personality description for them.
