Everything is back to normal and the Event Pokémon can no longer be bonded with! Thanks for everyone's participation over this last week! There will be no real lasting repercussions from this event - or at least, none that are immediately visible in the here and now. You may continue backtagging the event post and other related posts at your leisure!
A few miscellaneous things:
First, the Taken Lists have been updated by the amazing Sheepy! Please take a moment to look them over and both appreciate the shininess and ensure that your information is correct! Additionally, what we need from you guys is to list your Contact Information - we'd prefer you provide a Plurk or a PM to your journal. Please respond to the appropriate Taken page with this information or with any changes you want made to your listing! You can request icon changes as well if you'd like. Please do not respond with these changes to this announcement.
Second, we're introducing a new mechanic to bonding with Wild Pokémon based off of in-game Chaining! The Map Post has been updated with a section entitled Intensive Searching and Shiny Pokémon, but for your convenience, the rules will be listed here as well:
-Any week, you may select a revealed Pokémon and use an Intensive Search to attempt to find a Shiny.
-If the Pokémon is an Ultra Common, Common, or Uncommon, gain an additional 3% to this attempt. If the Pokémon is Rare, the first attempt is made at the standard Shiny Chance.
-If the attempt fails, each subsequent attempt, be it for an Ultra Common, Common, Uncommon, or Rare, will gain an additional 1% chance to acquire a Shiny.
-These do not all need to be made consecutively, and you can retain your chain, but you will need to provide links to all other chained attempts whenever making a new request or your chain will be reset by the mods.
-Upon obtaining a Shiny, the chain resets.
-Chains apply individually to specific Pokémon and locations; if a Pokémon appears in multiple locations, you must continue to go to the same location to benefit from the chain.
As a note of warning, the starting shiny chance is very low so while this improves your chances marginally, it is very possible that you still won't roll a shiny even if you spend months or if you're very unlucky, years.
