Welcome to November’s Brave New(s) World post! Here you’ll find a collection of information concerning events planned and ongoing throughout the month, as well as November-specific OOC announcements, swarms and other information and important links!

OOC ANNOUNCEMENTS

Below are a few housekeeping things that are going on throughout the month of November. Here you'll find information about our calendar for the month, activity check, and other important news.

ACTIVITY CHECK
ACTIVITY CHECK IS LIVE
Activity Check is conducted every month. You’ll find the modified rules outlined in the post linked above.

ENDGAME CHANGES
As per player input from the endgame poll, Brave New World will be wrapping up no later than January 15. To that end, applications are closed for new characters but opened for characters previously in the game who wish to return for endgame. The reclaim application can be found on the applications page here.

Additionally, we will no longer be offering personality blurbs for Ultra Common Pokémon requested on the weekly map post, effective this week. Otherwise, there are no other changes for the weekly requests.

UPCOMING EVENTS AND HOLIDAYS
The following will be taking place over the month of November only, and may or may not be accompanied with a mod-run log. These include game-wide events, player plots and holidays celebrated around the map. Participation is encouraged but by no means required.

SOULFASTING
10/31 - 11/5

Union’s celebration of the connection between the physical and spiritual worlds. Ninetales Vale in particular always decks itself out for this particular holiday, with masks and costumes encouraged. The recent tradition of handing out sweets to costumed revelers - usually children, sometimes...less so - continues to become more prevalent. Be sure to give your favorite Ghost-types a treat, or they just might decide to trick you!

ONGOING EVENTS
These mini events have no active expiration date, and will continue until they are resolved, and may or may not have a lasting impact on the game as a whole. These mini-events can be initiated by any players in the game through a plot request (submitted here), and may garner the attention of an event-specific NPC, so be on guard!

WAR RECOVERY
The recovery and release of the Gigases and the ousting of the Emperor has opened a new chapter in the relations between Gigas and the Union Alliance, but the taste of war doesn’t fade so quickly. Players are encouraged to explore the aftermath of the war and the subsequent recovery efforts into their posts.

MAP EXPAND
With the recent signal expansion, there are still many areas yet to be explored! Trainers seeking new discoveries or experiences are encouraged to check them out! (Keep an eye out for changes to existing areas with the release of Pokémon Sun and Moon in mid-November, too.)

CURRENT AREAS UNEXPLORED: Frozen Delta, Western Coast

SWARM WATCH!
A swarm will appear in a location for two weeks. Pokémon in a swarm act as an Ultra Common to that area and scale with their level. Requests for a swarm Pokémon can be made in the Map Post for that particular week. Players are not required to make a post in the swarm area, but are highly encouraged. Shiny chaining does apply to swarms, and works the same way as in other areas. Swarm Pokémon are not eligible for blurbs and will follow the general behavior provided.

DRIFLOON | UNION
Level 5
With Soulfast having come, the local ghosts are out in force. Drifloon descend from the sky and just start hanging around in parks, floating along with no intention of leaving. They’re kindly spooks, all too happy to hang out and play with people who come to the parks, even carrying them up and letting them go before they get too high up. Essentially, these ghosts are playful despite their limited capacity to interact, being living balloons and all.

FARFETCH’D | FLOWER GROVE
Level 15
With Soulfast over, the whole city is gearing up for Salvation, and for some that means roasted Farfetch’d. Only this year, the birds aren’t going to take it lying down. They’ve militarized within the Flower Grove, and guard the borders zealously. Trainers who enter and bond will find that these particular Pokemon have an aggressive streak and are remarkably possessive of their new trainers, fearing that they’ll be caught up in the Salvation purge as well.
