Setting AMA with Void!
Hey all! With the opening of Glacier and (semi) opening of Gigas, now seems like a perfect time for another setting AMA! Feel free to ask any questions you might have about BNW setting, culture, or other points of interest and I will answer as I am able! Note of course that certain questions may be answered with "wait and see", but otherwise it's all fair game!
Also as a note, this is NOT restricted to current players. If you know the setting and want to ask a question, you are free to do so!

2) Liches - actually a thing in Sanctuary, or just tales told to scare kids (prior to the Gigas occupation)?
3) have Gigas made any efforts to cross any oceans in the past, or have they stuck securely to shore territories?
4) How has hosting the Glacians affected life in Citadel, if at all?
5) Typing preferences and Enlightened abilities have expanded and changed Since the game started, have any in particular surprised you due to popularity (or lack there of)?
6) Can you tell us one random IC fact and one OOC fact about Gigas that we players may not be aware of?
no subject
2. Absolutely actually a thing, a number of the heads of major Sanctuary houses are Liches
3. Gigas has a strong navy and sea presence, they have contact with other settlements outside of the region (and regular trade and supply chain)
4. Glacians and Valkyries get along really well in general, so the largest change has been an increase in competitive hunting and also an increase in weddings. Glacians and Valkyries REALLY get along.
5. Honestly, it's pretty much in line with expectations but I'm happy to see a lot more type diversity than originally was there. Fighting and Psychic are still super popular and Steel has a pretty strong showing as well. I guess the biggest surprise is the lack of Dragon typing, but I can also see how that's harder to justify for characters since it's very specific.
6. I think you got a pretty good IC fact on question 3 so we'll leave that one as is, though you're welcome to ask more. That would have been the big one I would have given and nothing else major comes to mind. As far as OOC, I know some players are generally aware but the initial encounter with Gigas was modeled after the player's first interaction with Solaris in the 1998 RPG Xenogears. The city is built up as this big scary empire, but actually traveling there you find a bustling city full of regular people (and a few disturbing viewpoints) (and Soylent Green but we're not going there).

7) Do the Gigans have any old records for Gods/Legendaries from other regions, and if so, who might be sweet talked into sharing such things?
8) Does Gigas have archaeologists and would they be rivals for the Seekers?
9) What is the current command structure for the Seekers?
10) And what would they consider some of their biggest/best finds since aligning with Union and their compadres?
11) Since it appears the greatest threat now lies in the East, have we had any news from the island cities off the southern coast of similar encounters?
12) What are the Gods' views on pineapple on pizza?
13) How is Sanctuary doing these days, now they're out from under Gigas' yoke?
14) Are 1920s-ish fashions in right now, or are we pushing past that into the 30s?
no subject
8. Not rivaling the Seekers but there is some. Gigans consider themselves generally more advanced than the pre-fall time so it's a much different outlook, searching for signs of how the forebears lived.
9. Loose coalition with heads of different branches appointed by the founding hierarchy. Pretty informal chain of command in general.
10. Real gods! REAL ONES!
11. Union doesn't have especially deep connections to the island folk as nobody has ever really taken the time to get to know them. No word of aggression.
12. Depends on who you ask, try it and find out!
13. Sanctuary is happy to report that Sanctuary is doing quite well thank you. Definitely no illegal experimentations here, nosiree.
14. Starting to get into the 30's with music and culture

11.a - Are we stuck with dinky fishing boats? Or have we any larger vessels yet?
11.b - what sort of supplies or knowledge exchange might persuade Gigas to share some shipwright knowledge with us?
re: 12, what is the best way to hook gods up with pizza? for science, of course.

11.b: More than you've got
12. They DO deliver, you just don't necessarily want to see that pricetag.

Do they have anything that's equivilent to the Roman Gladiators? Servitors who are made to fight hangry Pyroars, etc?

In general the only live combat is Pokemon Battling which is similar to how it appears in the Television Series but with more marketing and commercialization (think American Football levels)

2) Just what sort of actual hexes are Mages capable of over, say, books or objects?
3) Is illusionary magic possible? Like making it appear that a moat has surrounded a tower, or a raging storm, or something like that.
4) (essentially how magicky *is* mage magic?)
no subject
2. It's pretty open, depending on the power of the mage.
3. Yep!
4. The basic limitations are use your imagination and established fiction for magic, and since we vet all spells we'll halt it if it's too strong (I would generally stay away from anything on the higher end of the D&D spell lists like Time Stop for example).

While we know Gigas is all about the use of pokéballs
for now, what is the general world view nowadays for the other cities? Union excepted.Do any of the various cities have a National Pokémon?
Any seasonal migrations we should be aware of as Spring moves into Summer?
And another random IC fact please! :D
